I should be dead.

I got in a really bad car wreck today. Slammed into a guardrail and totaled my car. The only injuries I sustained were a bruised wrist, and minor lacerations on my right hand. It’s a miracle I’m alive. God continues to bless me with miracles of life when I should honestly be dead.

There is this scene in the movie Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian that gets me every time. Where Prince Caspian is tempted to make a pact with the White Witch to defeat his enemies, and just before he offers her a blood pact, Edmund shatters her image. Behind her blue, icy image is the relief of a lion, practically glowing from the light of the torches that surround the chamber.
This scene reaches my heart on a very deep level, not only because it reminds me that God will always be there, no matter what kind of darkness we face, but because Edmund was considered a traitor by many. He was cast out and looked down upon. And yet he was still able to be forgiven and return to fight the good fight.
No matter what your past is, no matter what darkness you are faced with, God will always, ALWAYS be there.
