A blog devoted to God and helping fellow Christians keep positive in Faith and in Christ.
I don’t know if anyone told you, but there is someone out to get you.
There is someone who wants you DEAD.
There is someone who will lie to you and deceive you until he gets what he wants.
Yes, we have an adversary. We have an enemy. But it seems like too many people just dismiss this fact. A lot of times, they don’t want to sound like a “church freak” or like a “religious fanatic”. But just because you recognize that there is Satan and that he desperately tries to get to us doesn’t mean you are some sort of bigot. It means the opposite. And one of the greatest lies that the Devil uses is that he doesn’t exist. But he does. And he’s responsible for the majority of the turmoil in our lives.
Have you ever had a thought that popped into your head randomly, one that just didn’t feel right, but didn’t necessarily feel wrong either? Sometimes we aren’t the only ones in our heads. The Devil can give us thoughts that aren’t ours, that may influence us to take an intellectual thought path which God did not intend.
This is dragging on, but my point is that Satan is real. And the more convinced you are that he doesn’t exist or that he isn’t actively trying to destroy your soul, the more his plan is working. It’s not always these huge problems that we face that will be our downfall:
“No temptation has seized you except what is common to man…” — 1 Corinthians 10:13
We fall victim to the smallest troubles in this life, the common issues. The Devil knows what he’s doing. So, don’t underestimate him.
Then again, don’t underestimate the might of our God’s great grace, either. :)
